What is Astrology

Astrology is the study of the movement of the Sun, Moon and Planets against the backdrop of the Fixed Stars which we call the Zodiac, and the correspondence between this movement and events taking place on earth.

"As above so below". This ancient hermetic principle is the rationale for astrology which has been practiced by different civilisations for thousands of years. It is based on the observation of the way planetary cycles affect human behaviour and on the law of cause and effect but also depends on the astrologer's higher faculty of intuition. Many consider it both a science and an art.

A chart called a Horoscope is drawn giving the longitude position of the Sun, Moon and Planets in relation to the signs of the Zodiac at the exact moment of a person's birth and their spatial position in a 12 house division of the Horoscope according to the place of birth.

Astrologers study both the fixed and the changing aspects of life. While the birth chart gives a snapshot for a moment in time and your karma at birth, the planets are constantly moving around the zodiac and this gives a dynamic perspective of how and when your karma is manifesting with the flow of time. Astrologers look at planetary cycles and the current movement of the planets in relation to the natal chart to give a personal forecast for the time ahead.

With modern computers, it is a relatively simple matter to calculate the planetary positions and cast an astrology chart. However, chart interpretation requires skill and experience and several hours work.

Personal Consultations - Western and Vedic Astrology

During a personal consultation I will use different techniques from both Western Astrology and Vedic Astrology. I will draw your horoscope and study your natal chart. First, we will discuss aspects of your personality and some significant experiences in your life with a view for you to gain some clarity and insight into your present circumstances and the dynamics that influence your decisions. The scope is to bring into full consciousness both positive and negative attitudes and responses so you can make positive changes in your life and in your relationships.

Brief Consultations - Western and Vedic Astrology

For new clients this 30 minute consultation can be useful if you would like an introduction to astrology and a brief explanation of your horoscope. I will explain the meaning of the zodiac signs of the Sun, Moon and Planets in your birth chart and I will send you a copy of your natal chart with all your star signs by email.

Rectification - Western and Vedic Astrology

If you do not know the exact time of your birth, it may be possible to rectify the time through a detailed examination of all major life events. This is very time consuming and requires several hours work. I specialise in rectification as I believe that it is not possible to make forecasts without an accurate time of birth.

Past Life Consultations - Western and Vedic Astrology

A Past Life Consultation is available to regular clients who have had a Personal Consultation. It is essential for you to have a precise time of birth from a birth certificate or have had a rectification consultation with me. The main purpose of this past life reading is to gain clarity as to your soul's purpose in this life, what debts to others you bring over from your past life and what major lessons you are here to learn.

Relationship Consultation - Western Astrology

This is a counselling type of consultation. I prepare a synastry chart to compare the horoscopes of two persons and study their relationship. This can be very helpful as it can highlight the areas and extent of compatibility between two people. It can help both parties, whether in a business, a marriage or the parental home, to develop a deeper understanding of each other's needs, identify areas of potential conflict and suggest ways to resolve difficulties. If required, this astrology reading also includes a star sign compatibility analysis for potential marriage or business partners.

Child and Parent Consultation - Western and Vedic Astrology

Each child is unique and its experience of its parents may be quite different to that of its siblings. A consultation on a child's horoscope can help you understand your child better. In this consultation I will first look at the child's birth chart and descibe his/her personality and any areas of sensitivity you need to be aware of. I will then compare the chart of the child with one of the parents as this helps the parent to develop a more aware relationship with the child and to cater more exactly for the child's emotional needs. For this kind of synastry chart reading I will require the data of one parent and the child.

Astrological Forecast Consultation - Western and Vedic Astrology

This consultation is a very detailed look at the year ahead. I study the Solar Return Chart and the Soli-Lunar Return Chart as well as the Directions, Transits, Planetary Periods and other specialised charts for the year.
